The designation NRS for NAVAL RADIO STATION was replaced by CFS FOR CANADIAN FORCES STATION when the Royal Canadian Navy was swallowed into the Canadian Forces during the much hated unification of the Canadian Forces in the late 1960s. A black mark in Canadian history.
